Since 2017 Inspire Youths Services, Inc. has worked as a grassroots organization to bring behavioral health education, advocacy, and services to marginalized communities.
More than half of all mental health complications are present by the age of 14 years old. The often limited avenues to resources leaves marganilized children and families living with high exposure to trauma to face major challenges with stigma, health determinants, and criminalization.
To ensure that all marginalized communities will have access to culturally responsive comprehensive mental and behavioral health services and education. In hopes that future generations feel empowered and have eliminated environ(mental) stressors and the stigma around behavioral health services.
Services provided to youth and families will honor in incorporate cultural integration and transformation of knowledge about individuals and groups of people into specific standards, policies, practices, and attitudes used in appropriate cultural settings to increase the quality of services.
Preventing the harmful and inadvertent “re-traumatization” of youth and families who have been involved with traditional systems of care.
Understanding youth and families presenting problem and strengths rather than an approach that focuses solely on changing an individual’s behavior or cognitive thinking. Highlighting the importance and understanding of an individual and the individual behavior in light of the environmental contexts in which that person lives.
